LOTUS magazine was a crucial part of my college education. While I was part of the magazine, I got to write articles, but I also got to do things I wouldn’t have had the opportunity or confidence to do otherwise - like work on layouts, be present at photoshoots, and develop an eye for different aesthetics. I also got to highlight some amazing people on campus! As the content creator for Brooklyn Bridge Park, I am writing, designing, and filming all day
long, and I get to post about the incredible people who work at and visit the park. I continue to freelance articles for magazines like Rewire News Group, which reports on reproductive justice, like some of my LOTUS
articles did. I was previously involved in film shoots that spotlighted small businesses in The Bronx, the place where LOTUS was born. In my personal life, I’ve found myself being more willing to push boundaries in my style. And I have to mention that I’m still close with a lot of the people I worked on LOTUS with from 2019 to 2023! Go Jaspers!
